NaNoWriMo Day 4
Nov. 4th, 2011 08:51 pmNew words: 1,796
Total words: 6,483
Goal: 50,000
I'm not entirely happy with the way this draft in general is coming out (NaNo or no NaNo), but one thing I've learned writing as long as I have: sometimes you can't write it better until you write it worse first. You write what you can, and then when you're finished, you can regroup and figure out what needs to be changed. It would be better, of course, if you could figure that out up front or in mid-stream, but that isn't always possible.
Which makes second drafts as much work as the first.
So plunge on with the good and the crappy. That's the point of NaNo, right? 'Cause when you get to the final draft, it'll seem like the story's always been that way.
